Wangechi Mutu Takes You on a Fantastical Trip at the Brooklyn Museum

The first ever US retrospective of Kenyan artist Wangechi Mutu's work is on display at the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum.  'Fantastic Journey' meshes nature, the black female form, mysticism, and exoticism in one multi-layered experience. Mutu's work explodes with imagination, magic, and transports you to place of wonderment. A wide range of mediums include unseen sketchings, large-scale collages, sculptural installations, a site-specific mural, and video works. One video piece in particular is a joint collaboration with musician Santigold, entitled  'The End of eating Everything' included below.
