Diverse Voices Celebrated at Stand With Us Benefit Party at the Angel Orensanz Foundation
On March 6, 2018, during the kick-off of Armory Week, art, fashion, and cultural influencers intersected at Stand With Us at the Angel Orensanz Foundation, the inaugural benefit party of the Baxter St at the Camera Club of New York. Five honorees including Sadie Barnette, June Ambrose, Nayland Blake, Francoise Girard & David Knott, were feted for their artistic and cultural contributions. Barnette, in addition to being an honoree, has also previously exhibited at Camera Club of New York (CCNY) in her 2017 solo exhibit ‘Do Not Destroy’.
Sonic stimulations were provided by DJ Mike Q, as well as voguing battle performances by the House of Old Navy. Guests had the opportunity for a unique portrait session with the iconic photographer Renee Cox ($1000) as well as limited-edition, embroidered tees, by contemporary art superstar Zoe Buckman. Notable guests included Shari Loeffler, Jose Parla, Matthew Placek. Andrianna Campbell, Monique Long, Casey Fremont, Sarah Arison, Naima Ramos-Chapman, Ashley Artis, and many more. It was a thrilling night celebrating richness and singularity from prominent diverse voices spanning art and culture.
