Jewels by JAR at The Met Museum

Jewels by JAR, the first US retrospective dedicated to the work of  designer Joel A. Rosenthal,  is currently on view through March 9th at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.  Rosenthal, a New Yorker, Harvard graduate, and Paris resident has had a near forty-year career working from his atelier/shop on the Place Vendome.  His vibrant and quirky designs immediately set him apart and firmly cemented his distinctive reputation. Rosenthal's artistry includes sculptural pieces such as rasberry brooches, weeping-willow earrings, beautifully draped handkerchief earrings, starfish brooches, and dazzling emerald rings in elegant settings. An entire universe of beauty can be found in Rosenthal's work, while still emanating his singular, expressive vision.
